Moreover, Dr. Bin Haider has a prominent history as a community leader in the public services in the UAE, having been one of the founders and board members of the Dubai Municipality Council in 1994, and the Chairman of the Rent Disputes Committee in Dubai Municipality until 1999.

During that period, he played a vital role in the real estate construction in the modern Dubai and the development of the regulatory framework for the sector. As a dedicated philanthropist, Mr. Bin Haider founded the Mohammed Omar Bin Haider Charitable Foundation, which contributes to a number of charitable causes within the UAE and globally, and seeks to instill hope in the hearts of the needy, and to revive charitable endowment works, which are part of the fabric of the Arab life and culture.

In 2018, Dr. Bin Haider was awarded an honorary doctorate in law by the University of Wales in the UK, in recognition of his humanitarian contributions.
